NetLibrary audiobooks cannot be played on Macs because the latest version of Window Media Player available for Macs (version 9) is based on Windows Media Rights Manager version 1.3. NetLibrary uses version 2.x licenses for downloadable audiobooks in order to maintain a high level of security. Because the latest version of Windows Media Player for Macs does not support 2.x licenses, NetLibrary audiobooks cannot be played on Macs at this point in time.

Users have a limit of 5 download attempts for any title. After reaching this limit users must wait for the checkout time to expire and for the title to automatically check itself in. Once this happens the download counter reset and users again have 5 tries to download. If you experience two or more downlaod failures, consider downloading a title at a lower sound quality. This will reduce the download time and reduce the chance of a download failure.

Audiobook is simply a recording of a book being read out loud. Once downloaded, you can listen to it on your PC, on your ipod or MP3 player, or burn it onto CD to listen wherever you wish.

If you have an older Windows Media Player version the download appears to be working. Windows Media Player shows "acquiring license," but eventually you get a message that you don't have a license to play the audiobook. You need to download a newer version of Windows Media Player, available at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.aspx Media players and portable listening devices may be music oriented, so you need to be creative when trying to find your audiobook file.

The IF Archive is the major repository for free interactive fiction, and includes hundreds of recent games, games in many different languages, and many historic games. You'll probably want to download games from there, using the convenient interface provided by Baf's Guide to the IF Archive. Authors have made some game available for you to play on the Web or download in stand-alone form.

Well “no download” play is when you are able to bet on your favorite casino games from any computer without having to download anything. Some Windows Media files (such as the streaming video in the courses) may not play correctly on Mac OS X computers without downloading the Flip4Mac player (free) from the Microsoft web site. After downloading the free player, the course streaming video plays correctly in the Safari browser. Some video files may not play correctly on Mac OS X computers without downloading the free DivX codec from the QuickTime Components page or the DivX web site.

We store our music as a .asf file and it can be played on a MAC with MicroSoft Windows Media Player. Click here for a site that offers a free download of MediaPlayer. Currently the Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology does not support Macintosh operating systems. DRM is a Microsoft product and they have not made the technology available for Macintosh at this point.

During various phases of development, players successfully participated using Virtual PC 5.0 for Mac OS X . We have not explicitly focused on testing for the Mac systems but as far as we know you can run our software with Virtual PC 5.0 for Mac OS X.
