Not all vaginal discharge is your enemy. However, if it is: chunky, white (like cottage cheese) and accompanied by an irritating itch; foul-smelling; or green-yellow, treatment is required. The white, itchy discharge may have a musty odor and is usually a yeast infection which can be treated over the counter with a three-day or longer yeast treatment (NOT Vagisil).
