We have two models in all sizes. The SICO Room Maker can have an electric motor added to it's compression coil lift mechanism. That is controlled by a hardwired electric 'rocker switch'. The Belitec mechanism is total electric in operation and has a remote control that even has a 'childproof' lock out code. No. We recommend thru-hikers begin in mid to late June because higher areas may still retain deep snowfields. We also recommend starting the Trail no later than early September in order to finish before snow becomes plentiful. August storms at higher elevations can include lightning, hail and snow. Yes! Actually, it's hard to imagine an easier design—you just stack the boards so the ends interlock and insert metal pins to assemble the beds. Weather permitting, the gate to Rampart Reservoir should be open by mid May each year. You can, however, in the meantime hike to Rampart Reservoir from the Rainbow Gulch Trailhead.
