A) - Well, there are no bitmaps on Feebleminds. The bitmap save option comes about because of a bug in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has a cache. This cache is where all the web pages are stored from the web sites that you visit. The cache enables you to view all the pages you have recently visited offline. Also, because the pages are already stored in the cache when you re-visit a site the pages will load a lot quicker.

The two most likely problems are related to image type and layers. For instance, your image type must be "Indexed" for GIF, but "RGB" for TIFF. Try a different image type (look under the "Image" menu). If you have more than 1 layer in your image, you probably need to merge the visible layers, and/or "flatten" the image. Both operations are available under the "Layers" menu or from the "Layers" dialog. Flattening will destroy any background transparency.

When you are working in the library computer labs, save your files to the "My Documents" folder. This folder is backed up each day and is a very reliable place to store your documents and files. Do not leave your documents on the Desktop-they will be deleted.
