Our success rates vary throughout the year. Southern Resident Orcas are sighted consistently April through November. Humpbacks have been sighted consistently for the past five years September through January. Gray whales are occassional visitors throughout the year as they transit seasonally. Transient Orcas are sighted all year but are most obvious during winter season when there is an abundance of seals and sealions to feed on. Most summer days we also know where to find Minke whales.

Our tours begin in June and end in October. Whales are feeding in the Gulf of Maine during this entire period. Many species of migratory cetaceans begin to arrive once the krill and other foods become plentiful in the spring, typically by April. Our tours are not limited by the availability of whales but by cold weather and changing ocean conditions. So actually, the entire season offers a great opportunity to see whales. Whales begin their Northbound migration Alaska in February with the the cows and calves beginning around April and continue their trek through May. If you visit Alaska between June and early September, you may see Humpback and Minke Whales, Orcas, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Dall's and Harbour Porpoises. It really depends on what you want to fish for but if your like most folks its Marlin. A good rule of thumb is the hotter it is the better the fishing will be. Warm water is what they're looking for. Generally speaking no. The problem that arises with a full moon is it sometimes effects the live bait availability. You can order at any time of the year, although ideally you should place your order at the start of the winter season. You will need to plant out at around the same time as you would normally plant tomatoes. For the USA, Canada and Great Britain, we suggest you order between November and February, while Australia and New Zealand we suggest you order between April and September.
