If your college or department supports Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), you can read your mail by clicking on the Outlook icon in the upper right corner of the RamPoint screen. If your department does not support Outlook Web Access, you cannot get to Outlook from the portal.

For the incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP servers in Outlook, set both to yourdomainname.com using your own domain name. For your admin user, the username in Outlook is simply the admin user name. For additional email users that you create in your control panel, the username for Outlook is the full email address (emailuser@yourdomain.com).

You can access email from our web site or by setting up an account in Outlook Express, Outlook, or any other POP3/SMTP program.

Here are notes on setting up MS Outlook Express for email access under MS Windows 98. One of the nice features about MS Outlook Express is the ability to setup multiple email accounts. We will use, in this outline, an example user named John Smith with an RXN mail account name of smith@rxn.com and a dialup PPP account name of Psmith. You will need to substitute your own account names. MS Outlook Express is the mail interface distributed with IE 4.0.

There are some important differences between using WebMail and POP email (email that is downloadable into an email program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, MacMail, etc.). If you delete an email from a mail folder other than Deleted Item s , and you haven't emptied the Deleted Items mail folder after the delete operation, then you can find the deleted email in Deleted Items mail folder and copy it back to the original folder. If you have more than one email account, you may be interested in setting up separate Outlook Express Identities so that each email account has its own Inbox. If you want email from multiple accounts to reside in the same Inbox, just follow the steps in the guide again for each account you wish to setup.

In the process of sending mail through Microsoft Outlook Express, the create new mail controls will not allow you to return to High Impact eMail application until the mail is sent or the new mail window is closed.

Obviously, you can access DriveHQ Email using webmail from any number of computers. For Outlook access from multiple computers, please make sure you keep emails on server for a few days before you delete them. It is recommended to keep your emails on server for 5 days. Make a note of what you currently have in the "incoming mail server" entry (the name of your POP3 server). Change the "incoming mail server" from the name of your POP3 server to "localhost" (no quotes). Open the SpamBayes configuration page at http://localhost:8880/config (you can do this via the tray application, or just type that address into your browser). Enter your POP3 server's name in the top box ("Remote Servers").

Select "POP3" from the pull-down menu as your server type. Then enter "popo.ctimail.com*" or "pop1.ctimail.com*" as your incoming mail server and "smtpo.ctimail.com" as your outgoing mail server. Press "NEXT" to continue. (* Click here for selection of incoming mail server) Select "Use an existing dialup connection" button and then select "CTInets" from the scroll-down menu. Press "NEXT".

If you run the .ini file to configure your PC for dialup access (see that section in the FAQ's) then that will also automatically configure Outlook Express with your new email address details. You can edit this (eg. to amend the name that emails are sent from) by selecting Tools, Accounts from the Outlook Express menu and selecting the DSSnet account that will have been created.
