Check in at the Justice Court Clerk window on the arraignment date, which is shown on your citation by 9:30 AM. We will then send you to the District Attorney’s office, which is located in the same lobby directly next to the Justice Court Clerk window. After meeting with District Attorney’s office you will return to the Justice Court Clerk with documentation to be filed. If a settlement was reached we will process and file appropriate documents and collect any fines due at that time.

We can give you a continuance over the telephone on traffic citations. Traffic arraignments are held every Monday at 9:30 AM, excluding holidays. The Court can be reached at (775) 586-7200.

The juvenile judge requires that all juveniles issued a citation appear in Juvenile Court on the date indicated on their citation or the date for which they were notified by the Court, no exceptions.

By signing the traffic citation you have given your promise that you will appear. However, most tickets can be taken care of without appearing in court merely by paying the bail amount due on or before your court appearance date. By paying the bail amount without appearing in court, you will be convicted of the violation and the violation may appear on your record at the DMV. A point may be charged to your DMV record (depending on the violation) and your insurance may be adversely affected.

Once a citation is written it is forwarded to Crawford County Municipal Court the next business day. Citations must be disputed through the Superior Court. You may request a court trial (where both you and the officer appear in person in front of the Traffic Referee and each give your side of the situation); or, you may request a trial by declaration (where both you and the officer send in your individual written statements to the Traffic Referee, who will review both statements and render a decision in writing). The Court will provide you with all of the necessary information.

PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Mailed payments may only be in the form of a cashier's check or money order. If paying in person, you may pay with cash, cashier's check, and money order.

Call the Clerk of the Court, Traffic Division and request a hearing. Their telephone number is 407-665-4387 or 407-665-4323. The department does fingerprint City of Casselberry residents. Call 407-262-7616 ext. 1064 to schedule an appointment. There is no fee for this service. You must supply the fingerprint card and have proper identification.

A person who receives a traffic citation may contest it by going to the court he/she is cited to (listed on the citation) and posting bail (paying the amount of the citation). After the person has posted bail, the court clerk will assign a court date. On the specified date, the person will be able to plead his/her case before a judge and question the officer. If the judge rules in the person's favor, the bail they posted will be refunded.

If you lost your traffic citation, you need to contact the Stafford Township Municipal Court at 609-597-1000 extension 8540 for information on how to proceed to contest the summonses or enter a guilty plea.

Fontana Police Department will sign off a traffic citation that was issued by a Fontana Police Officer or any citation issued by another agency if you live or work in the city. If the traffic citation was issued by another agency and you live outside of the city, we will sign the citation off for a fee of $12.00.

If you wish to pay the applicable fine, you may use the envelope provided by the officer to mail in the fine. You also have the option to attend Defensive Driving School, you must visit the nearest Office of the Clerk (126 6th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach) to make arrangements for this option. If you received a traffic citation and feel it was issued in error, then we encourage you to visit the nearest Office of the Clerk (126 6th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach) and set up a court hearing.

Citations are signed off at the Palm Desert Station at 73520 Fred Waring Dr. between the hours of 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday.No appointments are necessary.
