For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. All applicants must submit a GRE score to be considered for fellowships or graduate teaching assistantships.

No, we do not consider GRE scores as an admission criterion. We have found that other sources of information gathered through our application process are better admission indicators than standardized test scores.

What we are most interested in is the applicant's research potential. These scores are just one of many criteria we consider. There are no minimum scores. We much prefer students who have taken challenging advanced courses to those with top scores on rudimentary courses. There are many ways for applicants to demonstrate their research potential.

Every graduate school hopes to attract and select the most capable and most highly motivated students who are apt to become devoted to psychology as a profession and who will make major contributions to knowledge. GREs provide one independent and standardized method of assessing all candidates though the other areas of your application give further insight into who you are and how you might be expected to perform.

Each year, from approximately 250 completed applications, our admissions committee is limited to selecting a total M.A. and Ph.D. class of approximately 30 students. There are no specific undergraduate course requirements for admission to graduate study, but courses such as introductory psychology, statistics, and experimental psychology and/or research methods are preferred. We normally tell students they should be in the B+ range to be competitive. The admission process incorporates 1) overall GPA; 2) prerequisite GPA; and 3) GRE score. Each of these areas is weighted equally. Thereby, the applicant could remain in the competitive range if they were low in one area i.e. overall GPA and up in the other two. Historically, applicants with GRE scores below 900 are not competitive.

While you may choose to submit your scores only to the admitting institution (currently UNCG), we would prefer if you submitted your scores to both Graduate Schools. If at all possible, do not submit them to the individual departments. If you're not sure yet when you plan to apply, report them to both schools, just to be on the safe side.

No, not in Australia. Mensa in the USA accepts some versions of these US scholastic tests, but they are not accepted for direct entry to Australian Mensa. There are other variations in the list of tests accepted by Mensa in different countries. The local Consultant Psychologists are responsible for validating and checking external evidence, and the tests accepted reflect the local field of expertise.

You will see unofficial scores for the Verbal and Quantitative sections on your computer at the end of the test if you choose to record your scores. You will receive official scores that include the analytical writing section in the mail in 10-15 business days.

You must contact ETS and request that an official score report be sent to the UConn Health Center using institution code 3931. A departmental code is not required. Copies of score reports sent to students are NOT acceptable.

SIMS has not set any minimum scores, but normally successful applicants score in the high percentiles (80's and 90's) on the General Test.

The GRE and TOEFL scores should be sent directly from ETS to Cornell University, university code 2098. Xeroxed copies of student scores do not constitute official scores. You should plan to take the tests allowing enough time for the official scores to arrive before the Field deadline; generally this process takes 3-4 weeks; however, it is recommended that the tests be taken no later than October due to the large volume of testing that occurs after that time.

There are no fixed standards for acceptable scores, and the GRE scores are just one of many factors in the admissions decision, but most successful applicants have verbal and mathematics GRE scores of 550 or higher.

The GMAT is required for applicants in Accounting. The other departments (Finance, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain and Information Systems) prefer GMAT scores, but the GRE is an acceptable alternative. Scores must be no more than five years old.
