If the birds have all their feathers then they are fledglings and were ready to leave the nest. They need to be on the ground a day or two as they learn to fly. The parents will take care of them, and it isn't true that if you touch a baby bird the parents will abandon it. Unfeathered babies can be returned to the nest. If the nest has been destroyed, you can make a new one using something such as a parrot nest box and wire; nail it close to where the original one was.

The starling is native to Europe, where it remains one of that continent's most common birds. In 1890 about 80 starlings were imported to the United States by a group who wanted to introduce all the birds mentioned by William Shakespeare in his plays.
