We recomend a portable Hard Drive to store your AVI files. The advantage to working with your files from the portable HD is that they are all on one source. Another option is to store AVI files on a MiniDV tape. The MiniDV tape will hold up to 1 hour of Video, but you need equipment to access your files from the tape. You might opt to back up your entire collection of media, including the AVI files to a portable hard drive.

Go to the Windows Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel) and double-click on 'System' to go to the System Properties. Click on the 'Hardware' tab, then on the 'Device manager' button. Open 'Sound, video and game controllers'. Right-click on 'Video Codecs' and select 'Properties'. On the properties tab you can remove video codecs.

H.263 is a video codec designed by the ITU-T as a low-bitrate encoding solution for videoconferencing. Q.004 I do not find the appropriate FPS setting with the 3gp Nokia/NEC/Siemens format using the H.263 video codec. Most of the clips I need to encode are either 25fps or 29.97fps. VPR now streams using only the MP3 format. Clicking the Windows link will open the stream in Windows Media Player. Selecting the MP3 link will open the stream in iTunes, Winamp, or other audio players depending on your computer’s settings. Unfortunately, AOL's Media Player does not support the MP3 format. To listen to a stream, first select the appropriate format based on your player. Then select the desired audio quality - low or high , based upon your connection speed.

RatDVD uses a video codec called XEB.
