All natural or synthetic pre-washed fabrics are suitable. Both light and heavy weight. Setacolor Transparent is only suitable for light coloured fabrics, while Setacolor Opaque is suitable for both dark and light coloured fabrics. Transparent Setacolor will soak right through the fabric. Ensure that you always use a plastic backing sheet when working with Transparent Setacolor.

Colours can be applied using a paintbrush, sponge, roller or airbrush. To airbrush or spray using a Plant Spray dilute the Setacolor Fabric Paint by 50%

Yes: For screen-printing add between 2 to 5% of Setacolor Thickener to the colour you are using and stir with a wooden stick.

Because Galvalume? sheet can be expected to provide long life, flashing should be used that will provide a life commensurate with that of Galvalume? sheet. For bare Galvalume? sheet roofs, Galvalume? sheet flashing is preferred, although aluminum flashing is also acceptable. Galvanized flashing is not recommended because it will not provide comparable corrosion resistance.

You can print on a variety of fabric types, however, best quality results are achieved using 100% cotton, 50% cotton 50% poly blends.

Yes, although painted Formica will no longer serve as an appropriate surface for chopping and other rough use. Formica should be thoroughly washed with powdered detergent, and then primed with XIM - UMA Primer (according to instructions on container). XIM Primer is available through most good independent paint merchants, or can be ordered from Phillips. After allowing the UMA primer to dry for 3 or 4 hours it should be sanded glass-smooth with a very fine paper - 220 or higher.

Before stenciling the fabric, wash and dry it according to label instructions. This will remove the sizing (chemical coating) in new fabric. If the sizing is not removed, your stencil paint will not bond well with the material. When stenciling on fabric, it is much easier if you can keep the fabric from moving around. Do this by using a light coat of spray adhesive on a piece of cardboard that is about 2" larger than the piece of fabric you want to stencil.

Yes. Setacolor Transparent can be used as a dye for light coloured fabrics. Simply dilute the Setacolor with one part Setacolor to three parts water. Immerse your fabric in the fluid, and work in the paint. Allow to dry naturally before setting.

The Sun or Heliographic Technique can only be used with Transparent Setacolor. Setacolor Soleil is a specially formulated Photosensitive Setacolor specifically for this type of painting.

Mix in small quantities of Setacolor Lightning to produce a more pastel shade without thinning the paint.

Use a perforating or scoring tool on the entire area. Wet the surface with mixed solution lightly several times. Keep the entire area wet, waiting 10 to 15 minutes between soakings. Scrape an area and re-wet any dry areas. It is recommended that you scrape one area while soaking another area. Work left and right, up and down, back and forth between areas. Patience is a must for this removal.

The fabric must be able to withstand 60 degree Celsius water and must not be damaged by creasing. Cold dyes exist but they're a pain in the neck to use and the colour doesn't stand up to repeated washing. Buy some Dylon Hand Dye (Woolworths sell it along with their sewing stuff) and a bag of cooking salt. Then get hold of an old bucket or bowl, a pair of rubber gloves and a clean wooden stick (the bowl, gloves and stick will be stained afterwards).
