It is your responsibility to obtain permission to perform ASCAP songs from ASCAP or directly from the copyright owner. ASCAP represents tens of thousands of copyright owners and millions of songs and an ASCAP license will give you the right to perform them all.

Why wouldn’t Apple have included a dock for the iPhone/iPod with the AppleTV? Looking ahead, allowing the iPhone/iPod to be displayed on your TV sure would be easier if the unit were docked into the AppleTV. There are no times when you can play your music so loud that it causes a nuisance to your neighbours. You should bear in mind that when background noise levels get quieter, at night for example, then your music will sound louder. Most people enjoy music but they do not want music imposed on them and they are entitled to a reasonable degree of peace and quiet whether in their home or garden, day or night.

You choose where and how music is used. The ceremony will use any incidental music such as hymns or live performers but the vows will be crystal clear. The guests' arrival, the photo sessions, the receiving line and similar events may use a combination of background music and incidental chatter. The 1 st dance generally uses the live music but may be mixed with a CD recording for better quality.

Here's the real key: Start with well-recorded classical music. It will show up any flaws in your cables, resonance problems and room acoustic problems. Any changes you make will be very apparent. The sound stage should be deep, wide, transparent, dynamic and natural. Cables with skin effect problems and high in dielectric effect or which are highly colored will congest and distort complex music.

You would be breaking the law unless you acquire a license to rebroadcast the music. The law does not allow any unauthorized rebroadcast of radio music for the benefit of your business. Please make sure your system administrator has connected a music source to your phone system. Do not use the Hold button at the top of the phone as that will only place the caller on Hold at the phone set (similar to Mute). Use the Hold softkey to hold and the Back softkey to retrieve. Review the section in your User Guide entitled Handling Calls.

The Terms and Conditions are the most important when it comes to any licencing matter. The word Free alone is simply too vague. Like software licencing, music licencing comes with a set of binding Terms and Conditions. Unless the licencing terms cover on hold application usage, do not assume that having obtained licenced music means you can do anything with it.

First of all, you're not using your hold time to your best advantage. Your callers on hold has an interest in your business, otherwise, they would not have called. You have a captive, interested audience. With the radio, it's possible they may hear an ad for a competitor...not just someone who's in direct competition with your business, but anyone who offers a product or service that competes with you for the limited dollars your caller may have to spend.
