On some operating systems, the game cannot properly update its own files. You can fix this by going to the directory in which you installed DarkSpace (usually C:\Program Files\PaleStar\DarkSpace) and look for files ending with ".UPD". These are the newer updated files that you have downloaded as part of the automatic update process.
