It is relatively easy to connect a HSU subwoofer to certain computer sound cards. These sound cards have a dedicated subwoofer output. Without a subwoofer output on the card, it is still possible to hook up a VTF or STF-3 subwoofer, since these subwoofers have stereo inputs. Nope. You probably won't try this more than once. The cable between your guitar and amp (or effects) has to be shielded to prevent picking up noise (electromagnetic radiation from lights, motors, radio, etc). Not a good idea. It might work for a while, but it's risky. Especially if you are pushing high power through a cable with a small center conductor, you risk either an open circuit when the conductor dies, or more likely melted insulation as the inner conductor gets hot, resulting in a short circuit. There is a big difference between guitar amp use and PA or HiFi use of speakers, and in some areas the advice and issues are almost exactly opposite-- but both correct in their given areas. In HiFi and PA use you must never let the amps clip. Once you do the amp will begin to deliver significant amounts of energy in relatively high frequencies.
