Student can wear casual clothes to school, including jeans. If you are coming in the summer, bring shorts, t-shirts, some light-weight pants and a light jacket. Bring an umbrella for when it rains. For the spring and fall, you should bring fairly light clothing but with some long-sleeved t-shirts, sweaters, a light jacket, and long pants. For the winter, a warm jacket or coat, hat, gloves, warm sweaters and long pants.

Of note, it is surprising how cool it gets when on safari in Africa - especially in the early mornings and evenings.

Good quality panniers, large ziplock freezer bags to protect gear from rain, and fenders are recommended. Lights are probably unnecessary as we won’t ride in the dark, but if you prefer, bring them along, the Chinese enjoy seeing bikes with lights as they are rare in China. Bring shower sandals, a mosquito net for mosquito country, and a sleep sack with a pillow holder.

The weather in Moscow, St Petersburg and Volgograd varies greatly according to season. The winters are long and cold (with lots of snow and average temperatures around -10 degrees Celsius), and the summers are hot with occasional thunderstorms.

The atmosphere at The Expanding Light is casual. For yoga postures and meditation, bring loose-fitting casual attire like sweat clothes, comfortable pants, and T-shirts. If you plan to attend Sunday Service, it’s ideal to bring something a bit less casual. We suggest a good pair of walking shoes so you can enjoy our nearly 800 acres of beautiful grounds.

Pack like you would for any resort. Cruise vacations are casual by day, whether you are on the ship or ashore. In the evening, ships vary as to dress. As on shore, attire is dictated by occasion. For the Captain's Gala, for example, you'll probably want to wear something more formal, such as a dark suit or cocktail dress; perhaps even a dinner jacket, tuxedo for the men or formal gown for the ladies.
