If you are trying to view a PDF file with Internet Explorer in Vista, and it appears that nothing is happening or if you see a window quickly open and then close this is likely caused by a browser setting. A browser setting called "Automatic prompting for file downloads," which is in your Internet Options, needs to be set to Enable.
