Because these heat transfer iron-ons are over 20 years old, we test all of them to make sure they still look great but please remember that due to their unique nature some designs may show slight variations.

A hand iron cannot be counted on to produce perfect results every time. This is especially true of hand irons that shut off automatically if held in-place without moving for more than a few seconds! The key to good application results lies in your ability to heat apply transfers with the correct temperature, time and pressure as provided by each transfer paper's manufacturer.

You are now ready to heat transfer. Use a dry iron, no steam. Use Cotton setting - temperature 300-340? F. Iron for 10-20 seconds. Insert the PTFE Non-Stick sheet inside the garment and iron on the back of the garment approximately 30 seconds. Your transfer should now be permanently sealed to the garment or fabric and is washer/dryer safe or may be dry-cleaned.

Vintage heat transfer iron-ons were made from plastisol ink that was printed onto special transfer paper. The ink was printed in reverse on the paper and coated with fine adhesives to help it adhere to the t-shirt. We recommend that you use a heat press set to 350 degrees for 15 seconds. You can also use a regular home iron set to the highest setting for 20 seconds. For added security, we suggest you stitch the patch on as well.

Long-term exposure to high temperatures can degrade potency and possibly neutralize Transfer Factor? activity. Transfer Factor should be stored in a cool, dry environment.

The anti-freeze that is used in a closed-loop system must be approved by provincial authorities and acceptable to the heat pump manufacturer. Methanol and denatured ethanol are the most common fluids used (methanol is not approved for use in Ontario). The fluid must be mixed with water in accordance with instructions, usually on a 4:1 ratio of water-to-chemical.

When you use the Fabric Sheet, the design is printed on fabric and that entire piece of fabric is ironed on to your crafting material. This is good for Memory Quilts, Pillows, Wall Hangings, etc. - anything that won't need frequent washings, as the Fabric Sheets cannot be laundered unless they are treated with several coats of acrylic sealer. The Cold-Peel product is a transfer that transfers the printed image directly onto your crafting fabric surface.

In the colder months, your Heat Pump will make some noise. It may also stop working for a few minutes. This is when it goes into the de-icing mode. It is a normal thing and part of the Heat Pump's built in protection system. A Heat Pump is a very sophisticated thing. You should let the Heat Pump run it's course.
