Geometry shaders are a new feature of DirectX 10 that allow for dynamic creation of geometry on the GPU. Until now, graphics hardware only had the ability to manipulate existing data on the GPU. With the introduction of geometry shaders, the GPU can now create and destroy vertices output from the vertex shader. This capability allows for new features such as displacement mapping with tessellation and GPU-generated shadow volumes that deliver an even more true-to-life gaming experience.

If you use BMRT as renderer, you simply need to correctly set up the "Shaders" preference setting and restart Ayam (or press the "Scan Shaders" button). To enable them in Point2Play, click the Icon for the game you want them to be enabled for. Then click configure and scroll down the list and an option about pixel shaders will be listed, check this option and pixel shaders will be enabled. To enable them in Cedega, open ~/.transgaming/config and search for the lines; "PixelShaders" = "Y" Check if this is indeed set to Y. If you're using an ElevationGrid, Extrusion, or IndexedFaceSet node, you must set the solid field to FALSE to tell the browser that all polygons should be visible regardless of the viewing direction. You need to convert your geometry into a set of triangulated surfaces and be able to export it in the GTS format (very simple, described here) or alternatively in the STL format (which can be converted to GTS using the stl2gts program).
