Windows 98/ME/2000/XP might not detect the PC Card if a previous installation of the PC Card was cancelled before it was finished. Remove the previous driver, and redo the installation again.

This problem is solved in recent Cygwin/X releases. Use cygwin setup to upgrade the xorg-x11-xwin package. The older X11 releases on the various commercial unices define the AltGr key as ModeSwitch, MetaR, AltR or similar. Cygwin/X expects it to be ISO_Level3_Switch. For reasons unknown to us this is reset when loggin into the remote host. As far as we don't have access to such a machine we are unable to track this down and find a reason. On Windows machines without a network adapter a loopback adapter needs to be installed to enable locally scoped multicast to work. No it does not automatically detect when you have a 1-3 or 1-4 mode. You need to manually set the port or use the software to switch the port. I can't print to my HP 890c. I tried changing the port to ECP and it sometimes prints, but is inconsistent. Also I can't seem to switch it via software. I can only manually switch with the buttons. For CardTalk: Boot to a DOS prompt. Insert the CardTalk Diskette into the A: drive and at the A:\ prompt, type 'install' and follow the instructions. For CardWizard Pro: Go into windows and type 'a:\setup' from Program Manager on the Run command line <enter key> and follow the instructions. On reboot, the card service lines should display two driver letters. It might go too fast so press the 'F8' key when you see 'Starting MS-DOS.' This might take more then once to catch it on time.
