You need to be able to establish outgoing connections on ports 4038 and 4039. For optimal performance, you need both incoming and outgoing connectivity on port 4137. You may not change the ports that BitWise uses. Allowing different ports would substantially detract from the ease of communication among BitWise users.

Some ISP's throttle bandwidth on these ports, and some trackers have banned them because of that. So choose a port of your own between 20,000 and 60,000. In order to change the port all you need to do is choose a port number that is not black listed and enter it in your router. Now open them up in your router or firewall as covered above, and then change the settings in your client to reflect the new ports being used. Each client is different so I can't really go into detail here.

The main port used by P2P-Radio is the port 2000 (UDP & TCP). This port must be accessible from the Internet. The port 2001 (TCP) is used for communicating with your media player. P2P-Radio only accepts connections from the local machine on this port. Connection requests from the Internet will be rejected. A web page with detailed information is available on port 2002 (TCP). You may also make this port accessible from the Internet.

If you have a firewall that does not auto configure the download manager when you installed it and need to manually open the required ports; If you are not sure how to manually configure your firewall you will need to consult the FAQ or support for your installed firewall program. Our support staff unfortunately does not have the knowledge base to assist users with the huge variety of firewalls or proxies nor to take the responsibility in assisting you to open the security of your computer.

The ports listed above are the default Gong settings. The ports can be changed by editing the gong.ini (for the client) and gongserver.ini (for the server) files. If there is a firewall between your computer and the Gong server which blocks any of these ports then Gong won't work properly. If you use some kind of login authentication system with Gong such as CAS authentication, then that process will use a special port not mentioned above in order to perform the authentication).

The ports used are configurable. For SIP signaling it uses 5 ports: the base port configured the four consecutive ports. All devices should be configured to use base port. Regarding media ports or RTP ports a range is configured, the number of ports in the range must be at least twice the number of concurrent calls you plan to have.

Under 16 bit Windows there was a separate set of functions dealing strictly with com ports. Under Win32 some of them have disappeared. Now opening a port is done using standard file commands.

The standard port for usenet is 119. However, sometimes you may point your news-reader to any of the following ports: 23, 25, 80 and 119.

By marking a port as insecure, the terminal to which it is connected will not allow root to login. People who know the root password to your FreeBSD system will first have to login using a regular user account. To gain superuser privileges, they will then have to use the su command. Because of this, you will have two records to help track down possible compromises of root privileges: both the login and the su command make records in the system log (and logins are also recorded in the wtmp file).

Web CEO uses ports 80, 443, 25 and 21 (the last one is required in case you're going to use the FTP Uploader). I cannot connect to your server. I receive error messages that say "Network error" or "Connection timeout". Ensure you are connected to the Internet. Check your connection settings.

Click your Start Menu - Open the Control Panel - Click the Network Connections Icon- Right click on your connection and go to Properties - Click the Advanced tab - choose Settings - Exceptions - Add port - Select TCP and type ports in 1 at a time.

The default port used by Server Administrator is 1311. The default ports used by Dell OpenManage IT Assistant are 2606 (for the connection service) and 2607 (for the network monitoring service). These ports are configurable. See Table 2-1 in this guide for additional details.

Very basically, if you have a low ID, it means that computers can't connect directly to you from the internet, and that your machine needs to initiate all connections outward. This is caused by either a firewall, a router that doesn't know what to do with incoming connections, or a bad server, and means that the server you are connected to needs to tell you when someone wants you, and you have to then connect to them, rather than having them connect directly to you.

On the SRB server server-side, you must open the port that the srbMaster is listening on, plus a set of 100 or so configurable data ports (described below). The srbMaster listens on the port defined in srb.h or specified in srbPort environment variable (often set in the runsrb script). By default, srb.h has DefaultPort "5544" but this can be changed via the configure --enable-srbport=value option.
