The Vermont Police Academy uses the standards as set forth by the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research. The entrance standard is 40th % based on age and gender. The only event that may be failed and allow the candidate to still pass the entrance test is the body-fat event. Exit standards require the 50th % based on age and gender. If a candidate fails any event during the final test they do not pass the test. Note: This is the minimum standard for Academy Entrance.

No. The purpose of an entrance exam is to predict success in program courses. We believe that this aim is best served by simply taking the "Foundations" courses, SPT-3800 and/or SPT-3812, and seeing how well you do. This, in turn, will allow you to determine if T&I is for you, and if you want to pursue it further. We do not require an exit exam either.
