No. We don't charge more to use Digital ICE and we don't usually charge more to use any of the other Digital ICE products, like Digital GEM (removes grain) and Digital DEE (fix under-exposures). However, if we receive an order of 200 or more slides or negatives to be scanned at any resolution higher than 2000 DPI with lots of grain and/or under-exposures and you want that corrected, volume discounts will not apply. This is a very rare occurrence and only applies to negatives of high speed film.

To remove dust contamination from the linen use a low power suction cleaner with a fine nozzle and this will remove loose dust from the linen. Be aware that age will have taken its toll on the linen and is likely to be brittle, some samplers in extreme cases can simply fall to bits! Don't expect to be able to remove all of the dust, if you have been able to remove 30% of it, then you have done well.

Digital ICE is an infrared cleaning, dust and scratch removal system. All slides are scanned with Digital ICE free of charge. The photo enhancements section shows some great examples of Digital ICE.

You can revive your Brillante with Simichrome, a wonderful non-abrasive polish available through your Brillante dealer, but if it has been deeply scratched, there is no way to thoroughly buff out these marks. We recommend storing your Brillante in its flannel pouch for optimal care.

Over time the cooking surface will become "worn" and get tiny scratches from regular use. Many people like that and refer to it as "patina". Should it get to much for your taste, just have the surface "buffed up" by a professional.

MicroVigene can detect and remove dust automatically. Correctly detecting dusts is an important and challenging task in Microarray image analysis. MicroVigene allows you to set the three dust parameters (threshold, maximum diameter, and minimum mean) to detect both weak and strong dusts.

Dents are depressions in the wood where the grain is not broken. Scratches and gouges are areas where the grain has been damaged. After the finish is removed, most dents can be steamed out. Fold a piece of paper towel, wet it with cold water, and hold it on the dent. Place a hot iron on the dent for a few seconds until steam is forced into the wood. The dent should rise after a few applications. Sometimes a small amount of sanding is required. Always experiment in an inconspicuous area first.

First, make sure you use a good stainless steel cleaner. Once you're done cleaning, follow up with good stainless steel polish. Cleaning will only blend in light scratches; deep scratches may require more work or sink replacement. Use Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and a green Scotch-Brite pad. Wet the sink and pad, and sprinkle a little cleanser in the sink. Gently move the pad front to back on the bottom to blend the scratches in. On the sides, scrub in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly.

Acute injuries (injuries that just occurred) to bone, muscle, joints, etc. should be treated with ice. It is best to use real ice, rather than chemical cold packs, contained in a plastic bag or securely wrapped in a towel. The ice pack should be applied directly to the injury site, wrapped in place with mild compression, and the injured part should be elevated above the level of the heart of if possible.

For a nominal charge, we will scan your photos and slides using our high-quality scanning equipment at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. We can scan 35mm print photographs (up to 8x10 in size), instant photographs (such as Polaroids) and 35mm slides. Never - a small instrument vacuums the cloudy lens protein from the eye. It can be powered by ultrasonic energy, though laser energy is being used on a limited basis. But all " vacuums" require a small incision to permit access to the lens.
