NavTech has indicated that they are constantly updating their map database and that at some point in the future, new maps will be available for purchase. So far, there have been no reports of functional pitch and roll indicators in any Touareg. Some owners have reported being able to cause the pitch and roll indicators to appear in the Nav system's display using a Vag-Com, but again, no one has rep orted that these indicators actually show any useful data.

From time to time manufacturers will release upgrades to not just their maps, but also the software that runs the system - adding new features and fixing problems in extising software. These can either be downloaded from the manufacturers website or ordered on CD. Some minor upgrades are free of charge - such as fixes for bugs in the current software release. Other larger upgrades require a fee to be paid.

The full version of the game includes 12 maps (planets), while the demo version features only one planet. You can play about a dozen (or even more) of World Wars on each of these planets due to Secret Allies concept.

Speed maps will normally be available by around 4pm the day before the race. This will vary depending on how many meetings are being worked on. It It may be earlier or later. Speed maps will be updated at around 10am on the morning of the races should scratchings occur. Speed maps are available for all carnival races along with a full race analysis. For other meetings, selected races will be analysed and included on the web site.

Maps are available on our web site for some of the trails. You can check the Trails Inventory for locator maps and detailed trail maps. We are also working on obtaining more detailed trail maps that we can make available on our web site. The City of Kawartha Lakes Tourism Office and Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism have recently published the Kawartha Regional Outdoor Map.

The ADT Explorer's Guide gives an overview of where the ADT is located and what can be experienced along its route. Trails Illustrated/National Geographic Maps, has produced a poster map of the ADT route and detailed maps of some of the route. Ellen Dudley and Eric Seaborg have written a book, American Discoveries, about their adventure in scouting the route of the ADT in 1990-91.

Maps can be purchased at any Daniel Boone National Forest office, by mail, or by ordering online. There are separate maps available for the north, south and central portions of the forest. These maps show most Forest Service system roads and trails on a 1/2" = 1 mile scale. Topographical maps are available for $6.00 plus shipping and handling. Ordering information.

With a bubble jet printer, use waterproof paper available from local map or office supply stores; some folks say hairspray works; you can slip them in a zip lock bag; or whitewater retailers often sell materials for keeping river maps dry. We make the maps. You too, can make maps for the GAOC. See the question above, except that making maps is expensive, and it's not easy, and it takes a lot of time.
