I have had dry AMD for years. Does this mean that I am going to get wet AMD too?

The Age-Related Macular Degeneration Project - UAB Departmen...
The course and timing of the disease is different for every person. Someone could have dry AMD for years, and it will never turn into the wet form. However, once you have the dry form, you are at increased risk for developing the wet form of AMD, as compared to someone who does not have the dry form of AMD.

What does Autoclave do?

Autoclave - Secure Disk Deletion
It securely erases everything in the writable space on a hard drive. Everything. All the files, all the free space, the partition table, the boot sector, the works. This includes the operating system and any preinstalled packages your hardware vendor may have included on the drive when you got it. Everything. I don't know how to say this more emphatically. When Autoclave is done running, you will have a hard drive filled with zeros, and nothing else. Ok, that was a bit of a simplification.

What are wet and dry landings and what does that mean to me?

Zegrahm Expeditions - Frequently Asked Questions
The terms “wet” and “dry” refer to the types of landings on our shore excursions. Wet landings require stepping into water up to ten inches deep and wading ashore. Dry landings make use of a dock or other object to step ashore directly. For wet landings in colder destinations, you will need waterproof rubber boots (or overshoes) and waterproof pants that fit over your pants. Once ashore, you can change into your hiking or walking shoes.

Facts About Age-Related Macular Degeneration [NEI Health Inf...
The dry form is much more common. More than 85 percent of all people with intermediate and advanced AMD combined have the dry form. However, if only advanced AMD is considered, about two-thirds of patients have the wet form. Because almost all vision loss comes from advanced AMD, the wet form leads to significantly more vision loss than the dry form.

Can the dry form turn into the wet form?

The dry form can advance and cause vision loss without turning into the wet form. The dry form also can suddenly turn into the wet form, even during early stage AMD. There is no way to tell if or when the dry form will turn into the wet form.

Can advanced AMD be either the dry form or the wet form?

Facts About Age-Related Macular Degeneration [NEI Health Inf...
Yes. Both the wet form and the advanced dry form are considered advanced AMD. Vision loss occurs with either form. In most cases, only advanced AMD can cause vision loss. People who have advanced AMD in one eye are at especially high risk of developing advanced AMD in the other eye.

Yes. In wet weight, (or "as received"), reporting, the concentration of analytes is reported based on the wet weight of the soil sample. In dry weight reporting, the concentration is adjusted to remove the moisture content of the soil from the reporting units. Results can be converted to either unit of measure as long as the moisture determination is performed.

How does wet AMD form?

Wet Macular Degeneration: VisiVite.com
Wet AMD occurs when new blood vessels form in the macula under the retina. The blood vessels underneath the retina begin to leak, resulting in lasting damage to the retinal cells. Can we burn both wet and dry fuel?

Boiler & Steam Systems, LLC.
Yes! The big difference is that wet fuel may take 80% more air than dry fuel. Operationally, you may wish to meter the wet and dry fuel to create a consistent fuel blend or you may want to exhaust the least merchantable fuel before using a more valuable fuel. With the controls designed for this scenario, this can easily be accomplished. In general, any time there are continuous variations in fuel quality, it is desirable to have an operator near by the steam plant.

If the ground is covered with snow does it qualify as dry? or wet?

S'COOL Frequently Asked Questions
The answer is that it does not matter. We ask about surface cover so that we know what the satellite is looking at. If the ground is covered with snow, that is what the satellite will see. For our purposes, it does not matter whether the ground underneath is dry or wet (although there are other satellite instruments that do investigate that sort of issue). So, for S'COOL you can put either answer when the ground is snow- covered.
