Yes, this allows you to use all the editing functions you're accustomed to. To turn Word on or off as your default e-mail editor for all new messages, go to Tools, Options, and then select the Mail Format tab. Select or clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box.

While you technically can use MS Word as your text editor I really suggest that you don't. Use Notepad instead. Word tries to write HTML for you and will make a mess of your document. I don't recommend it until you are more familiar with using HTML code and tags and can recognize what is supposed to be there and what MS Word has coded in for you.
