In most cases you will need a clear line of sight to the tower. Microwaves at frequencies of 2.4 and 5.8 GHz do not travel well through foliage and solid objects. We do have 900 MHz NLOS (non line of sight) equpment in selected areas with a lot of trees.

Large amounts of rain or snow may diminish the signal, but wet weather also evens the air temperature. Yes, the signal can pass through walls and buildings, depending on what the wall is made of or what is in the wall. Walls with sheet metal covering may reflect the signals, so the radio waves will not penetrate it. Also walls with lots of wiring and poor wiring insulation may cause interference and degradation of signal, and hence, poor performance.

How old is the TV? Older sets can experience tuner problems that can cause single channel problems. With new TVs, this is probably not the case. Shading PV panels decreases a system’s output. While some shading can be acceptable during certain times of the day (early morning and late afternoon) it is important to minimize the impact that shading from trees, nearby buildings, and other factors can have. If your proximity to the tower is roughly 1 to 2 miles away, then it may be possible to carry the signal through trees and still be able to get acceptable signal strength. If you are within ½ a mile from the tower, then you should be able to pass the signal through several trees. Extra ground height will only be assistance if it can help gain a better line of site with the radio tower. Otherwise, the reception quality will remain the same at any level of height from the ground.

Names of the form 'signal N' are default signal names used in such cases; they may appear in header files explicitly, or they may be displayed by PhysioToolkit software if no explicit signal names appear in a header file.

Creating a mono signal is often necessary when you are powering a subwoofer by bridging the amplifier. Many people do not realize that bridging an amplifier does not always provide a mono signal - many amplifiers will simply use only one input channel, which means that the subwoofer won't be receiving the full signal. Some amplifiers have a switch that will allow you to combine the left and right channels into a mono signal.

We fortunately have very good fire suppression and alarm systems throughout our campus. Each building is fully sprinkled, and has state of the art fire annunciation equipment. The Danbury Fire Department is contacted immediately when an alarm is sounded, regardless of reason.

If you know in advance that you would like to stay in your room when the residence halls are closed, you should try to select Pinney Hall, Centennial Hall or Newbury Hall for your room assignment.
