Car discs are totally different, you skim the surface to get rid of the hard skin that builds up & to make the disc flat again. Cast iron car discs are also very heavy which would add excessive weight to a motorcycle engine powered buggy. Making a disc out of steel means that the steel has that "Hot worked" scale on the surface.

To "turn" a rotor means to put it on a laith and "make it true." This is done with a special carbide cutting edge which slowly moves across the turning disk. This gives you a nice flat surface again. Cost? about $25 per rotor. Volvo now recommends new rotors if the old ones are not smooth. This is ok if you don't mind spending the $70, but one can "turn" old rotors two or three times before you need to replace them. p.s.

Brake bias was designed for circuits, a track where you know every corner like the back of your hand. So you know that corner "A" needs a number "2" setting on the bias lever & corner "D" needs a number "4" setting on the bias lever. If you have never been around a certain corner, you don't know how tight its going to be or the surface conditions, how then do you know what bias setting to choose?.

Either CD-R or CD-RW discs. All burner-capable computers on campus have CD-RW drives, which can burn both CD-R and CD-RW discs. However, CD-RW discs are considerably more expensive than CD-R discs.

No. Generally, you cannot use any larger diameter rotors, because from the factory the rotors come as big as they can be.

The UAE terrain is hard on buggies. Some spare parts (for purchasing) and tools/workshop will be available for repairs and assembling & disassembling buggies. There are some local shops that can weld stainless but not planning to carry welding equipment into the desert. A commercial workshop is with an hours drive so major repairs can be carried out over night. It is recommend to have your seat at least 10cm above the ground to clear bumps & dune crests plus other undulations.

You can "float" your stock rotors if they're slightly warped, or if you just like the jingle bells sound they make. Use the ball end of a brake lever and a socket a little bigger than the back end of the buttons on the rotor. Put the ball end on one side, the socket on the other, and squeeze the whole contraption in a vice. Repeat equally with all the buttons, and your rotors will dangle in place.

Vented brake disks are hollow on the inside. They look like a sandwich and allow air go inside of them, therefore cooling them off. Remember, the cooler your brakes are, the better braking performance you get.

The U.S. market was denied the more efficient two-piece rotors offered in the rest of the world because BMW of North America was concerned that, if not properly maintained, the rotors presented the possibility of failing, thus creating a legal liability. However, M coupes produced for the Canadian market were equipped with the floating rotors.

Did you replace all of those little missing or broken plastic pieces inside and out? Do all systems work? Windows, locks, seats and sunroof all probably at least need lubrication. I take all of mine apart, clean and relube.

We have had hundreds of buggies powder coated at The Edge & if it's applied correctly you will not find a more durable finish. I have seen buggies painted in two pack & although the finish was excellent the durability did not match powder coat. If a chassis is sandblasted, pre-heated & powder coated it will have a very tough, chip resistant, (within reason) good finish.

The needle & seat within the carburetors float bowl controls the amount of fuel that flows into the carburetor filling the float bowl. This needle & seat can generally only sustain 2-3 psi of fuel pressure before it will leak & allow too much fuel to enter the bowl. The Diaphragm pulses up & down & fuel flow into & out of the pump is controlled by simple inlet & outlet reed valves.

Modern vehicles today have better braking systems than vehicles of yesterday, but to achieve this the frictions applied are far greater and generate a lot more heat, causing disc rotor warping and bending. This is normally felt as a brake shudder or brake pedal pulsing. Excess noise can also be generated due to glazing of the disc rotors again caused by heat.

As always, there are exceptions to the rule, but general measurement between points of attachment on the front axles is 43" center to center. This allows interchangeability between shafts and poles.

Knowing where rotor-castings come from, not just where they are machined is a major problem for consumers. There is a wide range of qualities on today's world markets. Not all are equal. A good quality cast iron rotor, with or without slots or grooves will work well with EBC Greenstuff. Just don't try to buy the cheapest or you may end up with a poor brake or a warped rotor.

It is a cable actuated drum brake and full aft travel of the airbrake handle activates the wheel brake. The wheel is a standard 4 inch unit with a relatively large diameter tire to roll smoothly.
