Answer: On some computers with certain sound cards, you must reduce or turn off Audio hardware acceleration. Go to the Control Panel and in the advanced options for Sound or Audio; turn off Audio playback hardware acceleration. You can also try turning off DMA on your hard drives. This may be preventing the audio card from using the PCI bus. Go to Windows Help and type DMA in the search box for more information on how to do this.

Cell phones and radios can create interference with electronic devices due to the signal strength and frequencies that they use. We have found that some of these devices create a "clicking" or "static" sound through the telephone speaker. The interference can be minimized by moving the cell phone or radio away from your phone.

Some Windows Media files (such as the streaming video in the courses) may not play correctly on Mac OS X computers without downloading the Flip4Mac player (free) from the Microsoft web site. The clicking sound comes from a system-wide setting in the Sounds and Multimedia control panel. To disable the clicking, go to the ‘Sounds' tab and change the setting for the ‘Start Navigation' sound event to ‘None'. (This setting is under the Windows Explorer section of the Sound Events field.) Click the ‘Apply' button and restart your browser to finish disabling the clicking sound.

YES. All Parmak fence chargers are "solid-state" with no moving parts inside the fence charger. The clicking noise heard when the fence charger is operating is caused by the magnetic field surrounding the output transformer being released each time the fence charger pulses. NOTE: Fence load will effect the volume (loudness) of the clicking sound. As an example, the clicking sound will be the loudest when the fence charger is operated in an open circuit (not connected to the fence).

Important background: mozart uses MIDI synthesis for playback. This is quite different from audio playback of CDs and various kinds of sound file. MIDI comprises a set of instructions to a synthesiser which creates the sound. There is no "recording" as such. Computers can be properly configured for audio but not for MIDI. MIDI is not used by your computer in the normal run of events, and so it is quite possible that you wouldn't know if this were the case.
