an athlete progresses in his training, both his strength and skill increase. The same is true for the pelvic floor. When you first begin using the MPT, performing a proper contraction will require focused attention. However, after only a few sessions, you will notice that the process becomes more natural. You will not have to “think” about it as much, and soon the exercise will become almost effortless. At that point, you have “retrained” the muscles.

The pelvic floor is a "sling" of muscles which support the abdominal organs, including the uterus, urinary bladder the urethra, and the rectum. It normally tightens to help control the release of urine from the bladder, but can become weakened through childbirth or obesity, or become thinner through lowering of estrogen levels after menopause. This weakening is often associated with stress incontinence.

Exercising the pelvic floor can help regain control of the bladder for those that have properly functioning muscles. For some, bladder control is lost due to weak muscles that hold the bladder. Daily exercise of the two major muscles in the pelvic area can improve bladder control. Check with your doctor, nurse or physical therapist to help make sure you are doing the exercise the right way.

Pelvic floor disorders may include bowel problems. However, some patients will have weakness of areas of the pelvic floor that only cause bladder or vaginal problems.

While ISDS is exploring this issue further, there are two things to try if you frequently are kicked out of the system and it is not a “timed-out” situation (no key strokes for 90 minutes).

This is a specified behavior of the AiOS Shortcut, the Sidebar Switch and the Toggle Button. You can enable this feature in the options dialog by selecting it under General > Behavior > Open/Close the Sidebar in Fx 1.5 or under General > Special > Open/Close Sidebar in Fx 2.x. The Advanced Options Mode must be enabled. If you enable this feature for e.g. the Sidebar Switch, then the Switch will show/hide the sidebar and the toolbar, if both were visible or invisible.

The “down” time for this procedure is negligible. You will need to take it easy for the first 48 hours, but walking is encouraged to promote healing - you will walk out of the office! After the first two days, normal activities are resumed. Only strenuous exercise is discouraged for the first week to ten days, as are swimming and hot tubs. After that, it is business as usual!

Autism is a spectrum disorder, which means it manifests itself in many different forms. A diagnosis can range from mild to severe, and though children who have it (i.e. are on the spectrum) are likely to exhibit similar traits, they're also as individual as the colors of a rainbow, each one managing a grab bag of symptoms. While one child may rarely speak and have difficulty learning how to read and write, another can be so high-functioning he's able to attend classes in a mainstream school.

My mode allows you to save customized camera settings. My Mode allows you to save different setting configurations. To use the "My Mode" settings, turn the mode dial to the icon shown. The My Mode configuration is selected by the menu selection Mode Menu > Camera > My Mode.

Coconut oil is a food, not a medication, and therefore it does not have "side effects." Since individuals vary, there could be adverse reactions, especially if your body is used to a low-fat diet regimen. The most common reaction is diarrhea. While 3.5 Tbsp. is recommended as the daily intake by some researchers, it is probably best not to start with that amount, or eat it all at once. Spread it out over the course of the day, and reduce the amount you ingest if there are unwanted effects.

This refers to the industrial chemicals, caused by pollutants, pesticides and other chemicals, which have been found in human blood, urine and breast milk (see We’re Loaded with Toxins: Analyzing the Toxic Body Burden of Americans by Judy Chinitz Gorman).

The preference of natural, synthetic, or organic ingredients and the definition of each can be very confusing and controversial. We believe the real question should be: “Are your ingredients safe, effective, and free from harmful chemicals?” Our goal, in conjunction with our manufacturers, is therefore to provide safe, effective, high quality nutritional supplements that are free of any pesticide or herbicide residuals.

Support Group meetings are held twice a month. These group sessions are coordinated by our team of psychologists. These meetings are held at 6:00 pm in the Patient Care Center (Medical Education Building 4) on the 5th floor lobby on the south side.

Synchronous communication refers to interaction happening in real-time – a meeting or phone conference, for example.  Asynchronous communication happens anytime and doesn’t rely on being together at the same time – in person or electronically.  E-mail is a good example of asynchronous communication.  Unlike e-mail, asynchronous message boards allow an online discussion to be well-organized into threads.  It is a common technique used in online learning.

Students enter the Professional Education Program (last two years) as a member of a cohort. This means that students move through the program together as a group. The block program means that each student in the cohort registers for 15 semester hours (see curriculum). Each student will take 5 classes per semester, and work in the schools two days per week.

All of the specific course grading percentages include a line for course investment. Course investment is the only component of the grade where I can reward you for effort and the time you put into the course. The largest components of course investment are attendance and speaking up in class, since coming to class prepared to discuss the readings every time requires quite a lot of time and effort. Minor or ungraded assignments may also be incorporated into the course investment grade.
