I have an almost 6 yr old 10seer heat pump that has died. The cost of repairing is just slightly less then replacing it. Since the min replacement has to be at lease 12 seer or higher I was wondering if the is a quick rule to approx figure out the savings as I increase seer. I know the higher the seer the more effiecent but the cost goes up to. If I approx the savings I can better tell what my best option is. I plan to stay in the house for many years.
