CCA is a term used to describe the batteries ability to supply cranking amps to start the engine. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) by definition is the amount of amps a battery can produce for a period of 30 seconds at a temperature of 0? F.

During inclement weather and on cold days, the chaperone will most likely be in the foyer inside the CCA. Go inside and if you don't see the NHHR sign, politely ask the CCA staff if the NHHR group has started to arrive. On warm days, the group may be standing outside the doors enjoying the weather.

Amine copper quat (ACQ) and copper azole (CA) are the two most widely used wood preservatives most that replace CCA for non-industrial applications since 2004. Currently, treated wood consumers in the U.S. may find wood treated with ACQ (types B and D) and with copper azole. Two other chemicals, acid copper chromate and copper citrate, are also available for treating wood, but are much less often used.

CCA has three priority deadlines. They are May 1 for the fall semester, November 1 for the spring semester, and April 1 for the summer semester.

Grants and scholarships are gift-aid and do not need to be paid back. Work-study allows the student to work and earn money to help pay for school. The cold cranking ampere (CCA) rating refers to the number of amperes a battery can support for 30 seconds at a temperature of 0°F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell, or 7.20 volts for a 12V battery. Thus, a 12V battery that carries a rating of 600 CCA tells us that the battery will provide 600 amperes for 30 seconds at 0°F before the voltage falls to 7.20V.(Return to Top)

The best way any member can help is to get involved on a local level. Call your state CCA office and ask for a contact number for the volunteer or director in charge of a chapter near you and its meeting schedule. If there is not a local chapter, ask what you can do to start one. Through local fundraising events, membership meetings and fishing tournaments, CCA state chapters plant their grass roots.

The DVD CCA is the DVD Copy Control Association; their website is at dvdcca.org. These are the individuals pursuing the California trade secret case. According to their website, they are affiliated with License Management Incorporated; according to some sources, they are actually an owned subsidiary of Matsushita, the company mainly responsible for the development of DVD and CSS. This has not been confirmed at this time.

A foreign born person under age 18 who is the child of an U.S. citizen by birth or adoption qualifies for CCA benefits. A child who is the "step-child" of an U.S. citizen does not qualify for CCA benefits unless he or she is legally adopted by the U.S. citizen parent. A step-child is the son or daughter of a U.S. citizen who marries a person who is not a U.S.. citizen before the child reaches age 18.

You can go online to FAFSA Corrections on the Web and add CCA to your SAR. The CCA School Code is 016058. Or, the CCA Financial Aid Office can request an electronic version of your SAR from the Federal Processor if you submit a signed photocopy of all the pages of your SAR to the CCA Financial Aid Office.

The marine cranking ampere (MCA) rating of a battery is very similar to the CCA rating; the only difference is that while the CCA is measured at a temperature of 0°F, the MCA is measured at 32°F. All other requirements are the same - the ampere draw is for 30 seconds and the end of discharge voltage in both cases is 1.20 volts per cell.(Return to Top)
