Assuming that you meet all other requirements, you may enter CalStateTEACH if you have been promised at least one semester as a long-term substitute. Remember, to be a long-term substitute in a public school, a teacher would be required to be employed on an emergency long-term permit. A substitute position in which the teacher is employed on a 30-day sub permit would not qualify. long as the setting in which you teach requires a multiple subject credential, you will qualify. You can waive the student health plan as long as your new insurance was in effect by the first day of class of the semester or term that you wish to waive. To waive it, please come to the 2 nd floor of the Student Health Center and bring the name of your insurance company and the policy number. When a long-term substitute's position begins, provide a start date as for any substitute. If you are absolutely sure the substitute will only be working for a specific period of time and will not be returning to substitute for you, then enter an End Date.
