There are two things to consider when dealing with a wet boat. 1) The water you can find and drain, i.e., the inch sitting in the bottom. 2) The water that has gotten into the structure - the foam and the fiberglass itself. The foam blocks and fiberglass can absorb a 100 pounds of water or more into the structure and leave not a drop running in the bottom of the boat. We pretty much automatically install a 4" port behind the splash rail, even in a new boat.

Wood is always trying to come into equilibrium with the air surrounding it, so its moisture content can change somewhat after it's been dried.

Oral dryness can be the result of insufficient production of saliva. More often, we find that the dry and pasty feeling described by our clients is a response of the tongue and tissues of the mouth to an increased VSC production. Once the oral bacteria are reduced and their by-products eliminated, the sensation disappears and there is no longer a complaint of oral dryness.

My method is to put the tobacco in a large, clean bowl, and cover the bowl with a damp towel. The towel should not touch the tobacco. Check the tobacco every couple hours, and when it reaches the moisture level you like, store it in an airtight container. Glass "bail top" jars work well, but be sure to clean them thoroughly. (See the next item on mold.) Different tobaccos take up moisture at different rates.

Dry AMD occurs when the light-sensitive cells in the macula slowly break down, gradually blurring central vision in the affected eye. As dry AMD gets worse, you may see a blurred spot in the center of your vision. Over time, as less of the macula functions, central vision is gradually lost in the affected eye. The most common symptom of dry AMD is slightly blurred vision. You may have difficulty recognizing faces. You may need more light for reading and other tasks.

Worries about entrapped water in the interior of a Boston Whaler hull are common. The construction of a Whaler is based on the "Uni-Bond" technique where two relatively thin uncured laminated shells are bonded together and filled with a liquid which quickly expands into foam. The boat is left in the tightly clamped molds to cure into a single structure in which the foam is continuously bonded to the laminate shells, producing a very strong and lightweight boat.

A hovercraft hull is typically constructed from aluminum, fiberglass, plastic or plywood, or a combination thereof. Some racing hovercraft have been made from composite honeycomb sheet aluminum. It is important that a provision be made for buoyancy so the craft will float on water. This is usually done by installing urethane or styrene foam inside the hull.

Snit can't create a Tk widget object; only Tk can do that. Thus, every instance of a snit::widget must be wrapped around a genuine Tk widget; this Tk widget is called the hull component. Snit effectively piggybacks the behavior you define (methods, options, and so forth) on top of the hull component so that the whole thing behaves like a standard Tk widget.

Hull speed is the maximum practical speed of a displacement (non-planing) hull. Since a wave's length is proportional to the square of its speed, the wave created by a moving hull will at some speed become longer than the hull's waterline. At this speed the stern of the craft will no longer be supported by any of the following wave crests. You will feel the stern squat into the trough following the bow wave.

The Hull Identification Number (HIN) takes three forms in the Boston Whaler: the stenciled serial number, the metal tag, the embossed number. Numbering of the hull was initially voluntary but after November 1972 became a Federal requirement. Virtually all Whaler hulls are identified during molding by a black gel coat number containing about seven alphanumeric digits and apparently applied with the aid of a stencil. We call this the "stencil serial number.

The hull construction of a Boston Whaler differs from most all other recreational boats. Accordingly, if the hull becomes damaged, special techniques need to be used in making the repairs. There are some reports of the appearance of wavy indentations in the hull sides of older Boston Whaler boats of all sizes and ages. Manifestations of waviness in the hull sides of classic Boston Whaler boats is assumed to be the result of contractions of the foam interior after the boat has been removed from the mold. As long as the bond between the laminated hull skin and the foam remains intact, these waves or dimples do not represent a structural problem.
