There are two ways you can determine which version of Windows Media Player you have installed: Press the F1 key anywhere on the Windows Media Player window. The version displays. To play DVDs in Windows Media Player (version 9, 10 or 11) you need a MPEG-2 decoder that is capable of decoding DVD video and is also compatible with WMP. The K-Lite Codec Pack contains a compatible decoder. Some examples of compatible decoders are: Cyberlink, DScaler5, InterVideo, MainConcept and nVidia PureVideo. There are two types of MPEG video, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. The most common one of these two that is used in .mpg/.mpeg files is MPEG-1.

You need to have the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or Real Alternative installed. The 'RealMedia DirectShow filter' and 'RealMedia codecs' that come with these two packages are required.

No. Windows Media Player is also available for Mac OS 8.1 and higher, Mac OS X and Solaris 2.5.1 and higher. Unfortunately Windows Media Player is not available for Linux.

While the video is playing, press Ctrl+I (that's I for Ivory). Save as BMP to preserve the most quality. Another way is to reduce the Video Acceleration to None and using the good ol' Print Screen button. However, restore back the Video Acceleration once you're done as it could affect video performance. Click and drag the link to the address bar. This will force Internet Explorer to open the page in the current window. However, this will not work for JavaScript links.

NewsBin was not designed to run multiple times on the same machine but many users have reported doing so successfully. If you are going to do this, we recommend installing the instances in different directories because NewsBin does not know how to share its configuration file and data files with itself. Also, each instance may download duplicates because they cannot share the same duplicate detection database. Also, make sure each instance is using a different configuration file.

Open the Windows Explorer, click on "Tools / Folder Options" and then on the tab "File Types". You have to change the associated application for the file types "PLS" and "M3U" (these are the file extensions for playlist files).

Our videos are for Windows Media Player 9. They will play in earlier versions but without the video codec, only the sound can be heard. Install the codecs from Microsoft?:
