EF is the computed error norm (such as the matrix "residual" or flux "balance" disparity) for the variable F, CI is a normalized measure of convergence of the solution and has a value of unity when the error norm in the solution is equal to the product of the normalizing factor and the specified convergence criterion. This value attempts to find players with a balance of speed (SB) and power (HR). It is calculated as 2*HR*SB/(HR + SB), so Eric Davis in 1986 had 80 SB and 27 HR, so his Power/Speed Number was 2 * 80 * 27/(80+27) = 40.4.

The 6 percent interest is simple, meaning that the interest computes yearly against the deferred tax amounts. Deferral accounts do not accrue compound interest, which means interest is computed on previous interest in addition to the deferred tax amounts. For example, if your property taxes were $1,000, the interest for one year would be $60 (0.06 × $1,000 = $60). Interest continues to accrue each year on the deferred tax amounts.

Computed Tomography produces precise cross-sectional images of body parts with high spatial and contrast resolution. CT differs from ordinary x-ray in that a thin plane (usually less than 1 cm) of part of the body is exposed to a rotating x-ray beam and the exiting x-ray, after passing through the body is recorded by a large number of electronic detectors (instead of a photographic film as is the case in ordinary x-ray).

The basic idea is an iterative one. Begin with all teams set to an even rating -- 100 in this case. Then, for each game played, give each team the value of their opponent's rating plus or minus a factor for winning or losing the game -- 25 in this case. Computed tomography provides a three-dimensional, spatial image of the object under inspection. The CT-image shows different materials as different shades of gray (or as different colors). To generate a three-dimensional image, a large number of two-dimensional X-ray images is taken around a single axis of rotation (360 ?).
