The A.A.S. in Human Services Generalist degree prepares students to enter the Human Services field with a multitude of skills, including the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to deliver professional services that assist clients with their bio-psychosocial growth. Students enroll in courses on the C.O.D. main campus in Glen Ellyn during the first year of study and at one of the C.O.D. Regional Centers during the second year.

Yes. You can earn certificates in five tracks of study in the MP/TV Program: Screenwriting, Broadcasting, Film Production, Editing, and Analysis and Criticism. To earn a certificate, students take only the MP/TV classes needed in any of the study tracks.

associate's degree requires 60 completed degree-applicable units. There are two types of Associate's degrees, the Associate of Arts, (A.A.) and the Associate of Science (A.S.). You are able to obtain an Associate's degree at any Community College. Universities and State Universities to do not offer Associate's degrees. To obtain the Associate Degree, a student must complete 60 units of college work. The 60 units must include General Education, Major and Elective courses.

AA/AS Degree is a two-year degree (based on 4 semesters of 15 units each) that consists of specific groups of classes. You need approximately 30 semester units of General Education, 18-20 semester units of Major Requirements and other courses or electives to add up to a minimum of 60 semester units. You must also complete these courses with a 2.0 ("C") cumulative grade point average or higher.

As a rule, AAS degrees do not transfer to NC four-year institutions. Some general education credits will transfer, but you will lose many credits from an AAS degree program. Most courses in the Certificate program cannot be applied towards requirements for an undergraduate food science degree at the University of Guelph due to the laboratory requirements of the undergraduate curriculum. However, the Principles of Food Science course (FOOD*2010) can be applied towards the degree. Students planning to pursue undergraduate degrees at another university are advised to contact the food science program advisor at that institution since program requirements may vary.

Some students elect to earn a second associate degree at TMCC, because they want an AAS in law enforcement and an AA in criminal justice or an AAS in investigations and an AA in business. Dual degrees may be earned subsequently or simultaneously and require 15 credits beyond the first degree for a total of at least 75 credits with 30 credits earned in residence at TMCC.

The answer is a resounding “YES!” Transfer students who plan ahead with careful choices in classes can attain some AA degrees with very few additional units.

Although an associate's degree will place you in a more favorable light, an associate's degree is not required for transfer if the following criteria have been met: You have earned 24-30 transferable credits at CCRI and your grade point average (GPA) is 2.4 or higher.

If you graduated from AAMI's diploma program and passed the national board exam no more than 4 years ago, you are eligible to apply to have your diploma converted to an associate degree. The fee for the associate degree is $100.00. If it has been more than 4 years since you completed your degree, and you passed the national board exam, the credits earned more than 4 years ago will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.

Associate Degree or Diploma can be awarded after students have completed a specified program of study generally two years in length. TRU offers Associate Degrees in Arts and Science, and an Associate Diploma in Commerce and Business Administration.
