Why does the video stops and restart during playback (buffering)?

Support - WatchTheOutdoors.com
Video playback will suffer if you are on a slow Internet connection, or if you experience network congestion. To compensate for this, the video will download a little at a time to build a buffer. To correct this, watch the video at a lower bandwidth speed, or download the video to your computer instead of watching the streaming version.

The bandwidth of your Internet connection could be too low. But most probably, that's the broadcaster's fault and his bandwidth isn't sufficient to serve the stream. Dialup connections between 28K and 56K are not fast enough for the 100K video stream, but I should be adequate for the 8K audio stream. The audio is breaking up -- it starts and stops when some people listen to it. How can I fix that?

sonic memo
If your file is breaking up that's probably because it's too large for the bandwidth you have. The easiest way to fix that is to run it through MP3 Tweak -- you should have a copy of that since it's a SM bonus. If you don't, let me know and I'll send you a link. If you want to fix it by hand, take your file and change it from stereo to mono -- that cuts the size in half right there. Then change the sample rate to 22050 Hz and the bit rate to 24kbps. Do MDs skip during playback? Why not?

Minidisc Frequently Asked Questions
Rarely. A read-ahead buffer stores a few seconds of the audio material in memory during playback. The ATRAC decoder takes the data from the buffer, rather than directly from the medium. Thus, if the mechanism mistracks because of shock or vibration, the data continues to flow from memory while the MD machine recovers. If no more data remains available (when the disturbance lasts a long time), the audio material gets interrupted. See similar questions...
