Licenses can be purchased through the mail or in person at the Adoption Center. All dogs over the age of four months require a license in Oakland County. In order to purchase a license, a valid rabies certificate must be presented. Dogs are required to wear the license at all times. Cats do not require a license.

All Rock Island County residents should obtain their pet registration tags from Rock Island County Animal Care and Control. Pet tags may be purchased at the county animal shelter located at 4001 - 78th Avenue in Moline, or by calling (309) 558-3483 and requesting a tag by mail. Pet owners must have a copy of a current rabies vaccination certificate to buy a tag.

Dog Licenses are issued by the Town Clerk's Office. First time licenses must provide a current Rabies certificate and a neutering certificate if the dog has been neutered. Your dog must also have a current rabies vaccination in order to renew the license. Bring along the current rabies shot record when renewing.
