What is the best throttle body diameter?

Factors influencing size are; Power output, RPM, cylinder head design, cylinder capacity, position of the throttle body in the inlet tract and position of the injector. A smaller bore leads to better throttle control and response (never underestimate) and improved fuel mixing. The system should be considered in total - from (at least) trumpet flange to cylinder and proportioned accordingly.

Which type of throttle body?

Twin bodies are the most straightforward solution for tuning production engines, Direct-to-head where available, or via a suitable manifold. Direct-to-head-bodies represent the simplest and neatest solution. They are harder to match to the inlet ports if this is required for the engine in question, but have the advantage of being angled for best results, unlike a carburettor manifold. Single bodies represent the no-compromise solution. See similar questions...

Why and how should I bypass the throttle body coolant lines?

_2
A small amount of coolant is passing through the small hoses connecting to the throttle body. The main reason is so that during the winter months, the higher temperature of the coolant will keep the throttle body warmer thereby preventing icing. That's where the problem lies during the other months. By warming up the throttle body, you're warming up all of the air passing into the engine and thus losing some power (since cooler, denser air makes more power). See similar questions...

gt;> What is a throttle body spacer???

Frequently asked questions about throttle body spacers - Thr...
A Throttle Body Spacer is an add on to your air/fuel intake area. Originally used in the days of vehicles with carburetors, a throttle body spacer would allow additional fuel/air mix to be present to allow for additional power, or was used to "disturb" the air in such a way so that the fuel would form smaller droplets. Where is the throttle?

Fan Boat FAQ
That also is a custom setup per owner. Some are manual throttles (meaning the operator raises and lowers) and are connected to the engine via a throttle cable. Most use aircraft throttle cable because of its flexibility and because it does not take much force to pull the inner cable through the outer cable. These manual throttles all have some type of manual throw. Mine is a brake lever, others use go-cart twist grips, 3-wheeler throttles, etc. Other types of throttles are electronic. What's the size of the LT1 throttle body and can I use a larger one?

_2
A stock throttle body inlet is 48 mm in diameter. The matching inlet on the intake manifold which it's attached to is about 52 mm. Therefore, you can safely buy a 52 mm one (like that from TPIS) and bolt it on in place of the stock one without any other modifications. Anything larger (like the 58 mm job from Lingenfelter) would require the intake manifold to be bored out to handle in the increased volume of air. See similar questions...

gt;> Is a throttle body spacer difficult to install???

Frequently asked questions about throttle body spacers - Thr...
Throttle body spacers are generally quite easy to install. Most of them can be installed within 30 - 45 minutes with common hand tools. If you purchase throttle body spacers which are manufactured by reputable companies such as Street and Performance Electronics and AIRAID you will get a complete kit, including all hardware and gaskets making installation that much easier. gt;> How does a throttle body spacer work???

Frequently asked questions about throttle body spacers - Thr...
The throttle body spacer adds velocity by effectively improving the vacuum response to the TBI or carburetor. The throttle body spacer, effectively increases the runner length of the intake manifold while at the same time increasing the overall plenum volume. This, in turn, also acts to prevent any of the air-fuel mixture from hitting the bottom of the intake manifold and bouncing back up to scatter in the intake manifold increasing overall performance and throttle response. What is the hole for on the inlet manifold, directly behind the throttle body?

GILBERT CHEVROLET - LS1 Engine Kit FAQ
Some inlet manifolds may have a hole directly behind the throttle body for the EGR feed pipe. The EGR system is not used in this application and the hole will need to be plugged to prevent a vacuum leak. See similar questions...

I don't feel the need to keep the throttle body cool, can I buy the intake manifold spacers only?

Outlaw Engineering
This is a common question made by people that don't fully understand the operation of the system. The throttle body spacer is not meant to keep the throttle body cool, but is meant to keep the intake manifold insulated from the heat of the throttle body. Remember that most throttle bodies are heated by engine coolant to keep ice from forming in cold climates. This heat transfers from the throttle body to the intake so that the intake is now effectively heated from both ends. See similar questions...

gt;> Can I use a throttle body spacer with my aftermarket cold air intake???

Frequently asked questions about throttle body spacers - Thr...
It depends upon the type of throttle body spacer, the type of cold air intake and the type of vehicle. Your best bet is to purchase your throttle body spacer from the same company that manufactured your cold air intake. For example Street and Performance Electronics and AIRAID both manufacture a line of throttle body spacers and cold air intakes which are completely compatible. See similar questions...

When are you best able to leave your body?

Astral Voyage - Astral Projection - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIO...
Primarily in the morning. Even Robert Monroe went through several sleep cycles before he left his body. If you do it at night, you are usually too tired and will fall into a deep slumber. Unfortunately, most of us cannot sleep-in, except for weekends, but that's how it is. When I won the daily lottery via astral projection, it was because it was snowing outside and I didn't have to go to work that day. See similar questions...
