Integrating all of our different features saves time and simplifies things for both the customer and your organization. Integration allows a parent to have a single password to access their registration and their photos. Integration allows online registration to look at the real time capacities from the management software. Integration allows real time credit card processing both online and through the management software.

Integration is used to describe two different processes. One is the process of alters learning to communicate and cooperate and sharing their memories with each other. The other sense of the word is the actual merging (or fusion) of two or more alters to become one. Nothing is lost: all memories, talents, and personality traits are preserved, but organized in a different way.

The best way to explain how a single XQuery query can query both XML and relational data sources is to show an example. Suppose your company is a financial institution that needs to produce reports of stock holdings for each client. A relational database provides for a relationship to exist between two tables of data. You have your customer table that relates to the invoice table. The invoice table will only contain a number that equals the customer number. This then provides a link to the customer for their specific information such as address, phone, email, etc. By using a relational database, information need only be entered one time yet used in other functions throughout the program.

Relational Indexing was introduced in 1998 and is a natural-language indexing method developed to allow researchers to retrieve records while using the same familiar terms used by the authors. We subscribe to many different kinds of databases -- some contain the full-text of all of a publisher's online journals; others collect full-text articles from a variety of sources including journals, magazines, and newspapers; others simply index and abstract journals; while some are full-text encyclopedias and other reference services.

CNRI uses Berkeley DB for its major handle installations. The current handle server version includes code that helps you connect the Berkeley DB to your handle server instance. See the Technical Manual, Chapter 12, Enabling Berkeley DB JE Database Support, for information. Support for other databases is possible for anyone who provides a Java class, implementing the net.handle.hdllib.HandleStorage interface, to store and retrieve handles.

(If you cannot see this action, check that you are permitted to add a relational database to this page by checking the Access Details table on the "More Info" page.) This will create a new database, entirely configurable through Business Collaborator, with all of the data stored within Business Collaborator.
