Is your cladding subject to cracking, flaking or spalling?
FaqsThe infiltration brazed claddings are metallurgically bonded, and are therefore resistant to flaking and spalling. In some cases cladding cracks are visible. These are due to differences in the coefficient of thermal expansion between the cladding and substrate material, or can result from certain heat treatments due to substrate volume changes. Typically the cladding cracks do NOT penetrate into the substrate and do not affect wear resistance.
What Is That Cracking Noise?
Chiropractic Center of Southern Utah - FAQYour joints contain fluid that helps keep them healthy and lubricated (like oil in a car). This synovial fluid contains gas (like carbonation in soft drinks). When an adjustment is made you may hear a noise. I have an old rusted and flaking wrought iron fence around my house. How can I restore it?
Freedom Fence Frequently Asked QuestionsThe recommended procedure for restoring a wrought iron fence with this problem is to either sand blast or wire brush the fence to remove the rust. Once the rust is removed, you should apply a zinc enriched primer, cover it with one or two coats of finish preferably with a rust inhibitor. Just like your car, you can enhance the life span of an iron fence by simply cleaning and polishing the fence with a good automotive wax. BACK TO TOP
How is the cladding attached to the substrate?
FaqsThe tungsten carbide cloth is infiltrated by a brazing alloy, which fuses the carbide particles together and wets the substrate, creating a metallurgical bond.
What is the hardness value of your cladding?
FaqsMacrohardness is in the 64-70 HRC range for WC 200, 60-66 HRC for WC 210 and 56-62 HRC range for WC219. However, our claddings are a composite of tungsten carbide particles dispersed in a nickel-based alloy matrix. The extremely hard carbide particles, with a Vickers Diamond Pyramid Hardness of about 2000 DPH50g (1865 DPH50g is equivalent to 80 Rockwell C Hardness (HRC)), are surrounded by a two-phase matrix (300-800 DPH50g, equivalent to 30-64 HRC).
Are you capable of polishing the cladding?
FaqsYes. Typical ground surfaces are 16-32 R(a). Beyond that, the cladding can be polished to a surface finish of less than 12 R(a) over most of the clad surface. Why is our Felt Blanket cracking? Are there any Preventive Measures?
Frequently Asked QuestionsThese felts are the most susceptible of all felts to cracking simply due to the application. Transfer Printing Felts are typically run under a lot of tension, high temperatures, travel around small diameter rolls, and are constantly subjected to sublimation inks, finishing oils and fiber treatments such as Soil and Flame retardant. Ink is the main reason for shorter felt life. It penetrates the felt and impregnates the fibers.
Will the checking (cracking) get bigger?
