Students receive their grades at their permanent home address as soon as possible after the end of the term, usually about one week after the final grades are reported to the registrar's office.

In Ireland, HBSC 2006 was administered to students in primary and in post-primary schools (excluding Leaving Certificate year).

Actually, we give more than grades at Ambleside. Teachers assess students daily in narration and conduct, and weekly in math and writing. Our students receive an extensive narrative evaluation of their academic as well as their character development twice a year. In addition, twice yearly our students have essay exam periods that are an important educational evaluative tool at Ambleside.

Grades are the currency of the academic system; they reward and punish performance, and are used by many (graduate schools, businesses, etc.) as indicators of achievement. Because grades are abstract, quantitative measurements, they don't say much about a student's unique personality and character strengths; nor do they reveal much about what specifically a student knows.

Faculty are required to submit grades electronically, through the Online Grade Reporting System, by the posted deadline for the regular semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer I, and Summer II) and within two working days after the end of any flex entry course.

Blackboard allows for immediate feedback from tests and quizzes. To see your grades go into the Tools section and click the link to Check Your Grade. Any test or quiz that you have taken through Blackboard will appear here as well as any other grades your instructor has entered for assignments. Not all instructors use this Online Gradebook feature. You may want to ask your instructor to be sure.
