That's a really good question. Room size and average listening levels are ultimately tied together. A "headbanger" in a small to medium room may be less satisfied with the listening levels acheived than a chamber music listener in a very large room. And then there's home theater volume levels. The moral of the story is that you have to experiment with volume levels the subwoofer is capable and operate within it's limits.

This will depend upon the size of the items you are going to store, the amount you are to store and also how many times you wish to visit your storage room. Each room has a twin bed for each student. The mattresses are regular size and require standard twin sheets.

The larger the room the better the audiences experience will be, with the true cinema big screen and dolby surround sound visual and audio effects. As a rule of thumb, if the room can seat 80 people it will be large enough. If you are unsure, please make a note of the rooms, dimensions (width, length & height) and enquire.

In this instance you can simply rebook and move to the correct room size. Or, if the right size isn't available, you can take an additional room.

Each room has an extra long twin. Purchase extra-long twin sheets. Residents are also required to purchase an extra long twin mattress cover.

Today's equipment means that test rooms can be smaller than ever before, however, using conventional site testing equipment, the minimum requirement is 3050mm long x 2100mm wide. Standard size = 3150mm x 2440mm.

Our 425 Watt heater model has been specifically designed to heat an average room of 12 square metres of floor area. This ratio will vary depending on the combinations of factors such as climate, room insulation, number of windows, floor coverings and ceiling height. You can add as many heaters as you like to heat any size room, home or office, turning the heaters into an inexpensive and economical central heating system.

If you get a unit that doesn't have enough capacity to properly cool your room, it will probably run all the time and not lower the temperature as much as you would like. On the other hand, if you get a unit that is substantially too powerful, it will run for too short a time, quickly bringing the room to the desired temperature and the compressor will shut off.

A triple room is the same size as a twin bedded room. It will have beds to accommodate three people; however, we cannot guarantee that there will be three separate beds. If there are only two beds, a rollaway may be requested but also cannot be guaranteed. Return to Top

We offer both private and semi-private rooms. If you would prefer to reserve a private room, please inform us at the earliest possible time to insure that space will be available.

The following sizes of carpets are the largest possible, based on the measurements that will not be obstructed by a convector, closet, door pillar, or sink (in suite-style rooms). Students from the Residence Hall Association (RHA) sell carpeting for a fundraiser from July 1 through August 2. Proceeds will benefit programming in the Residence Halls. Orders may be placed online at the RHA website between July 8 and August 2.

All of our speakers work well in a small room. From an acoustical standpoint, within reason there is no room too small. On the other hand, I would recommend our larger speakers for larger rooms.

Most residence hall floor plans and dimensions are available on-line at www.unh.edu/housing/floorplans. It's important to remember that the diagrams and measurements may not be exact and are only meant as a guide.

You will need approximately 4 BTU (British Thermal Units) per cubic foot OR 40 watts per cubic metre, to cool you room. As a guide, the Alaskan PAC-9000H-A (9000 BTU) will comfortably cool an average room size of 12 x 16 x 8 feet. Consideration should also be given to additional heat sources such as computers, printers, televisions and other electrical appliances, as well as south facing windows. 1 BTU is 0.293 watts and 1 watt is 3.412 BTU.
