In most cases, Zamberlan boots have been constructed using a Norwegian welt in which the leather Upper is stitched to the sole or a lasting board method in where the outsole and midsole are cemented to the underside of the leather Upper. Norwegian welted boots are easily resoled and providing that the Lasting Board is not severly damaged and the leather in good condition where it meets the outsole on a cemented sole, your boots can be resoled.

You can damage or destroy your shoes by waiting too long to have them repaired. The best time is when the sole is almost worn through, but before there is any damage to the rand (the rubber running around the upper part of the shoe). If the rand is in good condition, only a half-sole is necessary. If the rand is worn too thin, then a rand repair will be necassary in addition to a resole. Yes. Repairing a Twistarp is similar to patching an inner tube. From the patching material that is included with the tarp, cut two patches one inch larger than the damaged area. Rough up and clean the damaged area on both sides of the tarp. Coat the damaged area using HH66 cement. Coat the patch. Wait a moment and press the patch onto the damaged area. Turn the tarp over and follow the same procedure on the opposite side. Small rips, abrasions, and holes can be patched this way. See similar questions...

Yes, most cracks can be repaired. It is a good idea to wait until the log is dry, or finished cracking before repairing the crack. It will open back up again if it is not dry. In the mean time, a little stain placed in the crack may help hide the crack from view until it dries. An example might be using a little dark stain to fill in a crack on a black bears back.
