Can I pull a gooseneck trailer with a short bed truck?

Frequently Asked Questions
In most cases yes, however you need to see your dealer about the specific truck and trailer combination.

Will your gooseneck trailer fit my truck? How do I adjust / level the trailer?

FAQs
Answer: Our gooseneck (GN) trailers will work with either short-bed or long-bed pick up trucks, unlike most of the others that require a long-bed. What is the issue? With most GN trailers, when mounted on a short-bed truck, you have very little clearance between the GN nose and the rear of the truck's cab. When turning at a sharp angle to back into a parking place, the corner of GN nose "jack-knifes" into your cab - crushing the truck's window, cab, and damaging the trailer too.

Is a gooseneck trailer better than a tag-along?

Horse Trailer Safety Information
For more than two horses, yes. For a two-horse trailer, a tag-along trailer is just a safe as a gooseneck trailer if it is properly hitched to the proper tow vehicle. The advantages of a tag-along include cost, ability to be towed by something other than a pick-up truck, and a smaller size for storing and hauling. If you do not need the extra space for sleeping or tack/feed storage, the extra expense for a gooseneck trailer may not be necessary.

Which is safer, a bumper pull or a gooseneck?

Frequently Asked Questions
Both are safe if hooked up properly with the correct tow vehicle. However, goosenecks give a more stable ride because the hitch is mounted in the back of the truck as opposed to the rear of the vehicle.

Can I use fifth wheel RV's with a short bed truck?

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes but a glider/slider hitch package would have to be instaalled so it could be moved back to accomodate clearance at the rear of the cab. The 8' bed is really the best tow vehicle as it will have the longer wheel base. Long wheel bases contribute to ride quality and handling. The only reason any of my customers have come up with for having a short bed as a tow vehicle is that they can't get the longer vehicle in the garage.

Can I carry my dog in the open bed of my pick-up truck?
