Electricity is supplied throughout New Zealand at 240 volts via a slant pin outlet. Hotels often provide a 110 volt socket for electric shavers only. For all other equipment, an adaptor and a converter are necessary.

Electric connections are the same as in North America - 110 volts with the same 2-3 (w/ground) flat prong connectors. All North American appliances work here without any problem. Small European appliances may require adaptors, depending on the country of origen.

The electrical current in lodges and hotels is 220 volts. If you plan to bring 110-volt electrical devices, it's suggested that you pack an electrical converter and an adapter plug set (socket configurations in destination countries vary between the two-pronged variety and the three-pronged variety). In general, there are no electrical outlets in the tents of safari camps.

The inline heats 12 liters/minute of water, so it is capable of heating one-two outlets at the same time.

Electricity in Slovakia is 220volts, 50 Hz AC. You will need a European plug adapter (with round pins) to plug your appliance into the electric socket.

Most resorts have 240v supply with 3 pin plug sockets. The sockets do vary on some resorts so it is always worth taking an adapter.

There are 3 main types of electricity meter. A single rate meter (which is the most common) for users of standard rate electricity; a multi-rate meter, which allows you to take advantage of cheap-rate electricity at off-peak times such as at night (for example, Economy 7), and a pre-payment meter, where you pay for the gas or electricity that you use, in advance, by means of a token, prepayment card or coins.

The island uses 110 volts, although a few hotels also having 220 volts. Take your own adaptor if you are not sure of what you will need or encounter.

Meridian Energy meets approximately one third of New Zealand's electricity needs from its nine hydro power stations in the South Island. Ultrasound travels through practically all solid materials as long as there are no air gaps. Porosity in a material will cause sound waves to become attenuated more than if the material is fully densified and this phenomenon can be used to quantify the densification such as for ceramics and powder metallurgy samples. In general the penetration of ultrasound in all solid materials is reduced at higher frequencies.

anesthetic cream is applied to the eyelids to numb the skin. Small injections are then given to make the deeper tissues numb. Generally there is no pain during surgery. If you are very nervous, you will be given a Valium pill to help you relax.

All of our vessels are wired for 220 volts but not 110 volts. We suggest you bring an adapter, converter, and/or necessary wall plugs for your particular appliance. Hairdryers are available in all cabins.

Common 110 power/20 amps is all that is necessary for efficient operation of our setup. We can plug directly into any outlet or be hardwired in.

Remember the voltage is 220 Volts in Europe. You will need a voltage converter and adapter plugs for all electrical appliances. Check with the labels on your electronics items, many will be dual voltage- laptop computers, video chargers, etc... Back to top
