Each A-Net component in a system can have up to 500 feet (150 meters) of Category 5e cable (UTP, Unshielded Twisted Pair) between it and the next A-Net component (for example, from a Input Module to a Personal Mixer, or from one Personal Mixer to another in series). Cat-5e cable comes in two varieties, stranded and solid. Stranded wire is more flexible, but may not perform as well as solid wire at extreme distances. The number of components in the system is unlimited.

UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair. UTP cable is required for use with all Aviom products. Shielded Cat-5e cable is not approved for use with A-Net devices. Using shielded Cat-5e cables can result in loss of signal length, distortion, pops, degradation of the digital signal, and other performance anomalies.

The maximum length for a USB cable is 5 meters (197 inches). The power transferred through a USB cable that is greater than 5 meters in length will start to decrease, and the device may not function properly.

Any standard Category 5 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable will work with A-Net devices. Category 5e describes a cable that has extra twists in the wire to help reduce noise and interference in high speed networks. The wiring of a Category 5 and a Category 5e cable are identical. You cannot use a cable designated as a "crossover" cable. The internal wiring is different.

Approximately 30 feet of shielded VGA cable, then you may need a distribution amp. Sometimes you can push this distance. Try the cable first, then order the amp if you need it. Some projector models have a Power off feature. If turned on, the projector will power down after some minutes of inactivity. This feature is to prolong lamp life. If this is painful, go to the power menu and deselect the power off option.

Length is not a restrictive factor. We have successfully treated submarine cables that stretched across Lake Erie that were 19,200 feet long.

To ensure the best results and the longest distance possible Altinex offers no-skew twisted pair cable which does not require any equalization.

We recommend using maximum of 20ft / 6m of tubing for the 22" / 55cm Eco Light Tunnel, 10ft / 3m of tubing for the 14" / 35cm light tube and 7ft / 2m of tubing for the 10" / 25cm sun tube. Please note that the longer the tubing the greater light loss will be.

Pro16 A-Net cables can be 500ft/150m between devices with Cat-5e. Pro64 A-Net cables can be 400ft/120m between devices.

The LCIC was designed for industrial use. It will accommodate 4 or 6 wires load cells so; you may easily run 150meter cable.

BRC cables have been tested reliably up to lengths of 300 feet using a twisted pair, pin-to-pin, grounded and shielded cable at both ends. It is critical that the cable be a twisted pair to avoid any interference on the cable, which will interrupt the clock signal and possibly corrupt the command chain.

For keyboard wedge model, on typical PC, the distance is about 9 feet. For RS232, EIA standard is 50 feet, WA is typically offers 9 feet or 15 feet. On Wand Emulation model, it is 7 feet or 15 feet.
