Latitude and longitude are used to identify the geographic center of the ZIP Code. However, ZIP codes don't have a center, because they were never meant to identify a geographic region, they're used for ease of delivering mail.

Every point located on the equator (an imaginary great circle passing round the middle of the Earth) is at zero degrees of latitude. Zero degrees longitude is every point on the Greenwich Meridian or primary meridian - an imaginary line which runs from the North Pole to the South Pole. StarGPS-NX outputs the lat/long in degrees, minutes and seconds (rounding to the nearest second). If the telescope controller does not support seconds then it rounds to the nearest minute. See similar questions...

For most of my maps, you can use one of the following. For the Blacks and Prisons in California map, I don't have a way right now. Edit the URL in your browser by hand. Look for something like lat=-122&long=37 and change those latitude and longitude coordinates to the ones you want.
