Ratings: The only reason solidly stated from NY Nick within the age demographics they used (kids 2-11years old). There is no information available on age groups 12-up, but the show was not rated on the top 20 on rated cable programs of a weekly format. Certain Nick execs stand by the ratings being what killed ZIM. The first Episode of IZ was released on DVD on September 20, 2003. It is called 'Nickstravaganza 2' and can only be bought at Wal-Mart, or at Wal-Mart's online store: The Official IZ DVD set is being released by Anime Works (not related to the Nickstravaganza DVD). Mary Harrington approached Jhonen at the SD Comic Con 5 or so years ago and asked him if he would be able to create a viable idea for a Nick TV series. For a year or two they refined the idea and made a bible. As long as it did not contain any references to any 'homicidal maniacs' they were okay.
