The maximum size for incoming and outgoing messages is set to 25MB per message. That is both the size of the message and any attachments to the message.

AOL does not handle multiple attachments per message in a very useful manner. Multiple attachments are combined using MIME encoding. This is most easily avoided by asking your correspondent to include only one attachment per message (using BASE64 encoding) and turn off any additional HTML formatting. Multiple attachments can be safely compressed together, and you can decompress them on your end (in many cases the AOL software will do this automatically).

Don't get us wrong, 100k is a huge email file and most emails we all receive everyday are much less than 100k. Keep in mind that many people throughout the world pay for their time while connected to the Internet...so you don't want to send an email which takes forever to download.
